The center of Severe Tropical Storm OPONG was estimated based on all available data including those from Guiuan and Laoang Doppler Weather Radar in the vicinity of Palanas, Masbate (12.1 °N, 123.9 °E )

Maximum sustained winds of 110 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 150 km/h
